FAQ's |
- Check in party and FREE spaghetti
on the Friday night before the event from 5-7pm. Located
at 699 Yellowstone Avenue in
Pocatello. This is the last chance to get
registered.
- To get the latest schedule,
scroll down on the Pocatello web page
http://www.peakinspiration.com/efpocatello.htm
- Parking at Rainey Park or the
Pocatello Community Charter School at 995 S. Arthur,
and walk across the pedestrian bridge. No parking at
Centennial Park or the City Creek Trailhead.
Please do not park on Grant or Idaho Street.
- Wrist bands issued at
check-in must be worn on the left wrist to
participate in the event. The wrist band and
timing chip will identify you as a registered
participant, and will allow you access to the
starting line, course support, and finish line food.
Bib numbers will not be issued this year, as all
timing will be done with the ChampionChip timing
system.
- ChampionChip timing system. Please do not
forget to wear your assigned timing chip
ON YOUR LEFT ANKLE during the
event. Velcro bands will be issued with the
timing chip. DO NOT ENTER THE
FINISH LINE AREA when making your
transition from bike to run during the duathlon
event. Only
enter the finish line area when you are completing
your event! Do not forget to return your timing
chip after the event, or you will be charged $10 for
the souvenir!
- Courses consist of a 5K loop course for the run
(2 laps for 10K run), and a 30K out-and-back course for the
bike.
Course map >>> Each course comes
through the middle of the Endurance Festival
village. Water/Sport Drink stations will be
located at each end of the courses, which means the
runners will have an aid station approximately every 1.5 miles,
while cyclists have aid stations approximately every
9 miles. These are open courses,
so vehicles, cyclists, pedestrians, and others will be out on the course.
We will have safety marshals and great signage to
help keep the course as safe as possible. Make good
decisions when out on the course. The
short
kids courses for ages 2-10 will
be much shorter (0.3-0.6 miles for the run, or
0.55-1.0 miles for the bike). Parents will have time
to watch their children complete the short kids
run/bike before they start their event.
- Bike helmets required.
This
includes short kids bike races. No exceptions.
- No dogs will be allowed on the
course. This is for participant safety.
Thank you for understanding.
- MP3 players, such as
iPod's, can be worn during the event. We
highly encourage responsible use, so that you can
hear participants and vehicles coming up on you.
Please keep the volume low, or keep the ear bud
closest to the road out of your ear (use only 1 ear
bud).
- Participants can bring stroller/joggers
during road running events. We request
responsible use of the stroller, including staying
to the extreme side of the course, and be very
diligent to allow other participants to pass safely.
We also ask that you start in the back of the pack
at the start. Note that there is a short
grass portion on the course, which may pose to be a
challenge for small wheeled strollers. No
double-wide strollers or walking 2 or more across
with strollers.
- Duathlon rules and notes. The
duathlon is a bike first, then run to finish format
(similar to triathlon). The transition area is
right next to the start/finish line. Make sure to
enter the transition area, not the finish line, when
making your transition. Participants must dismount
and walk their bikes into the transition area.
Drafting is
not allowed during duathlon events. Aero bars are
allowed. We ask that anyone using aero bars make
smart decisions insuring the safety for other
participants. You will be the person held
responsible for your choices. Finally, make sure you
attach your timing chip to your left ankle, or the
left shoe for your running segment.
Since you will finish this event running, that is
the only way you will get a result. The timing
chip cannot be in contact with any metal, and must
be within 1 foot of the reader mat at the finish
line.

Courses
Scenic and challenging courses include the 5K run flat
and rolling hill loop (10K = 2 loops) on roads and the
Portneuf Greenway along the Portneuf River. The 30K bike
course (slightly shorter at 16.2 miles) is an out-and-back that ventures to the Mink Creek
recreation area and includes a low incline climb with a 500'
vertical gain. The duathlon is a bike, then run format
(similar to triathlon). Easy transition set up. For kids
ages 2 to 10, courses include the run (0.3-0.6 miles) and
bike (0.55-1.0 miles). The ultimate format for
